(Junior) Technical Writer (m/f/d)


As a technical writer you will be part of the Brainlab Learning Infrastructure Team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the written content of the global Brainlab user guides and other related documentation in English that are supplied to customers together with Brainlab products. Additionally, you will work on projects to improve technical documentation processes and work to enrich the customer experience.

Your main duties will include:

  • Independently write all assigned user guides and related documentation
  • Ensure that the user guides have a clear structure and consistent concept, keeping in mind the need to localize and reuse content
  • Upload content to our user guide portal
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of Brainlab product(s)
  • Create and process images and screenshots for the assigned user guides
  • Maximize communication and cooperation with relevant R&D and/or support teams
  • Process and manage administrative projects
  • Work closely together with Instructional Designers to ensure consistency of information and language


Required skills:

  • Native level of English
  • Outstanding writing skills and a passion for writing technical documentation
  • Knowledge of authoring tools and single-source publishing to multiple outputs
  • Excellent technical understanding
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent social, team-work and self-management skills
  • Attention to detail

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in technical documentation development
  • Background knowledge in medical technology
  • Previous CMS and/or structured FrameMaker experience
  • Experience or interest in XML, HTML5 or programming languages
  • Knowledge in physics and/or radiation therapy would be considered a plus
  • Experience managing website Content would be considered a plus
